Continuing our journey through the history of Amritsar and Sikhism, the Akal Takht, the highest seat of religious authority for Sikhism

The next point on our tour is Amritsar's symbolic icon, the Golden Temple. This impressive place of worship is captivating not only for its beautiful architecture but also for the ambiance of respect and spirituality that is felt in its vicinity.

Things to note

1. Remove your shoes before entering the temple complex.

2. Wash your feet in a small pool of water at the entrance.

3. Keep your head covered at all times – the gurudwara provides a head covering for those who have not carried a scarf.

4. Dress appropriately.
