Tour Along the Medieval City Walls of Amsterdam
Overview of the tour in Amsterdam
Our tour will cover topics such as the origin of Amsterdam, the medieval city walls - with the defensive towers, Dutch expeditions, the Golden Age, the East India Company, and the West India Company.
I will tell you about Rembrandt and his most important works, the social system in Amsterdam in the XVII century, religion then and now, and a few other interesting things.
Mind you, the walk is slightly off the beaten path (still in the center, however).
This activity includes:
- Zuiderkerk
- Café the Schreiertower
- Bushuis - Oost-Indisch Huis
- Basilica of Saint Nicholas
- Waag
- Munttoren
- Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam
- Oudemanhuispoort
- Het Trippenhuis
- Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam Hotel
On arrival
Let's meet in front of the Central Station (the city side, not the waterfront), outside the main entrance (that's where the writing is, between the two towers).
I will be holding a white umbrella with hearts on it.
Things to note
I will inform you if we are to expect any interesting weather conditions. Let's face it: it is the Netherlands, and everything is possible.
ATTENTION: If your group is larger than the booking you’ve made, please let me know in advance. We can try to work it out. Otherwise, I might not be able to accept a large group - limited numbers of people can legally participate in the walk.
If you cannot make it, PLEASE cancel your reservation :)
