Bart's Free Tour of Antwerp
Overview of the tour in Antwerp
Bart will escort you through the charming and well-preserved heart of Belgium's most famous port town, which once eclipsed even London and Amsterdam.
As guests discover Antwerp's prime position in the burgeoning global trade spurred by colonial ventures, as well as its pivotal role in the gruesome Eighty Years' War, they will find this tour is part of a much bigger story and links up beautifully to visits of Brussels, Ghent, Bruges, and even the Netherlands.
Your guide is an experienced storyteller who will blend the historical with the contemporary and make this wonderful city's rich past and welcoming atmosphere come to life. In addition to Antwerp's Golden Age, you will learn about its love for diamonds, art, fashion, chocolate, beer, and positively anything that comes with mayonnaise on the side.
The tour will start at the Grote Markt by the statue of Brabo, take about two hours, and operate on a tip-what-you-like basis.
Look for Bart's GREEN umbrella.
