Overview of the tour in Athens

We will visit the most important sites on Mount Parnes, which is the last peak of the prefecture of Athens, in the north. That is where the great ancient poet Sophocles was buried.

On this tour:

We will visit the tomb of the ancient poet Sophocles and an almost intact Mycenaean Tomb. We will visit a small church nestled in the woods and an important monastery in a gorge.

We will visit three museums: The local archaeological museum, the local folklore museum, and the house of a famous Greek poet of the 20th century.

We will walk into the aristocratic neighborhood of Kifisia and stop to see mansions of eminent people (artists, politicians, and military officers) living there in the 19th century and 20th centuries.
We can arrange to eat at a local tavern (not included in the price).
You can buy the travel book Dark Attica.
