Overview of the tour in Athens

The walking tour with an expert guide in English will focus on the history and mythology of the emblematic buildings of the classical era, such as the Parthenon, built by the Athenians after the great victory against the Persians. We will admire the oldest theater in Greece, with a capacity of 17,000 spectators to continue with the Portico of Eumenes and the Sanatorium of Aesculapius.

Next, we will ascend to the top of the Acropolis passing by the auditorium of
Herodes Atticus where the festival of Athens is currently held and then we will pass inside the Propylaea
Inside the Propylaea, the monumental entrance that served as a funnel in times of war.

At this spectacular entrance we will admire the famous temple of Athena Nike, built in memory of the battle of Marathon. From the top of the Acropolis we will contemplate the grandiose Parthenon and the Erechtheus, a building built right in the space where Poseidon, god of the sea, and Athena, goddess of Wisdom, faced each other for the city.

Before finishing the visit we will observe relevant buildings of the city visible from the Acropolis such as the Temple of Hephaestus, the Arch of Hadrian, the Temple of Zeus and the Panathenaic Stadium, among others.
