Overview of the tour in Augsburg

We start our tour at the Rathausplatz, the heart of Augsburg. Admire the impressive Augsburg Town Hall, a Renaissance masterpiece designed by Elias Holl, with its famous Goldener Saal. Nearby, you'll spot the Perlach Tower, a former watchtower offering panoramic views of the city.

From here, walk to the Alte Börse, a former center of commerce in Augsburg’s Golden Age, and then continue to the Fugger-Welser Museum to explore the history of two of Europe’s most powerful merchant families.

Next, stroll through the historic Bäckergasse, once a hub of artisanal activity in medieval Augsburg. Continue on to Klein Venedig, a picturesque district with charming canals reminiscent of Venice.
Your next stop is the Brechthaus, the birthplace of playwright Bertolt Brecht, which now serves as a museum honoring his life and works.
Walk towards the Vogeltor, one of the oldest preserved city gates, then head to the nearby Schlossermauer.

Continue on to the Steinerner Mann, a mysterious medieval stone figure shrouded in legend.

Next, head to the Leopold Mozart Haus, where Leopold Mozart, father of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was born. Make your way to the majestic Augsburg Cathedral (Dom).
