Walking Tour Around the Old Town of Bar
Overview of the tour in Bar
Walking through the town, we will learn about its appearance during the Middle Ages, the Venetian rule, when it was under the Ottoman Empire, and the time when local rulers governed the town. We will visit the Musem located in Old Town Bar.
On a journey through the centuries, we will visit:
- Monastery of St. Nicholas
- Aqueduct
- Citadel
- Gunpowder
- Venetian Palace
- Main Square with the remains of the Cathedral of St. George
- Clock Tower
- Turkish Bath
- The Archaeological Museum is located in the Bishop’s Palace.
Meeting point: in front of the Main gate ( Velja vrata )

On arrival
The town can be reached by the city bus, which runs every half hour (during the summer, it may be less frequent), or by taxi.
If you are coming by bus, Old Bar is the last stop. Once you get off the bus, cross the parking place and continue straight along the narrow street lined with souvenir shops and restaurants. Halfway down the street, you will find the stairs that lead you to the Main Gate ( Velja Vrata ) - a meeting point.
If you are coming by taxi, the taxi can take you directly to the Main Gate ( Velja Vrata ) - the meeting point. In that case, don't be surprised when you pass the street next to the parking place.

Wear comfortable footwear, and during the summer, bring a bottle of water.
