The Civil War was one of the bloodiest events in the history of Barcelona and although the suffering is now in the past, those events were only a couple of generations ago.
Between 1936 and 1939 the city of Barcelona suffered the Civil War, with all the harshness that this entails. This war, which should have been only for the soldiers, became the responsibility of the entire people and the innocent civilians were the ones who suffered the worst consequences.
