The Suburb of Barcelona: the Medieval Raval
Overview of the tour in Barcelona
Neighborhoods outside walls, the suburbs characterize medieval life as much as the city center. Currently located on the other side of the Rambla, the Raval neighborhood has bequeathed us buildings and urban planning that we can visit and walk around to discover the other side of medieval society. Some spaces with their own characteristics, but with functions linked to the city on the other side of the wall. The growth of the walls, the presence of religious communities outside the wall, sale of wine and meat at the gates of the wall, medieval medicine and the first public hospital ... we will be able to relive these and other issues of life in Barcelona medieval from which we drink its heritage.
