Overview of the tour in Barcelona
We will start our tour in the origins of Barcelona: the ancient Barcino, the Roman colony that laid the foundations of the city we know today. We will walk through the necropolis and reveal how the dead were honored. Next, we will delve into the impressive history of Barcelona Cathedral, while admiring its majestic architecture, amidst mysterious gargoyles and colorful stained glass windows.
We will walk through the historic Plaza del Rey and visit the palace that was once home to various rulers: Visigoths, caliphs, counts and kings.
As we enter the charming Gothic Quarter, we will learn about the legend of Santa Eulalia, one of Barcelona's patron saints, and discover the importance of St. George in Catalan culture.
We will delight in the beauty of the Bishop's Bridge, walk along the remains of the Roman wall and also explore the old Jewish quarter, a key piece in the rich history of this city.
After 2 hours of sightseeing we will finish at the famous Basilica Santa Maria del Mar in the Born neighborhood.
