Overview of the tour in Barcelona

Discover how Spain's most celebrated cathedral came into existence from its inception in 1882 until the present day, when it has become the most visited religious center in the world yet to be completed.

On this walking tour, you will receive an explanation of the striking symbology and sculptures depicted on the Cathedral's three contrasting facades. Antoni Gaudi's pioneering vision for the cathedral will be explained along with an account of the personality and whims of the man celebrated as Catalonia's most innovative architect.

After a five-minute journey on the underground (2.15 euros Metro ticket is not included in the tour), you will be shown striking examples of Barcelona's most iconic modernist buildings on the famous Passeig de Gracia, accompanied by accounts of the legends and lore that underpin the rich fabric of Catalan culture.

This will include stops at Casa Mila (also known as 'La Pedrera'), Casa Batllo, 'El Nacional', and Plaza Catalunya.

This tour encompasses eight stopping points and a maximum of 2.5 kilometers (2 miles) of walking, all of which is flat or downhill. We look forward to sharing our passion for the city with you!

Meeting point

Picasso Restaurant

On arrival

We allow same-day bookings with a minimum of 2 hours notice, so we can manage the workflow of our guides. The meeting point is on the pavement outside the "Picasso Restaurant" on the corner of Carrer de Mallorca, 422, and Carrer de la Marina, 08013, Barcelona. Your guide will be standing there 10 minutes before the tour's allocated start time, clasping an opened blue umbrella.

Things to note

This 1-hour walking tour encompasses the most striking architecture in the capital of Catalonia. Approximately half of the time will be spent at the Sagrada Familia and half at the Passeig de Gracia, where Barcelona's greatest examples of modernist buildings are located. Please note that while same-day bookings are permitted, we require a minimum of 2 hours notice so as to best manage the workflow of our guides.
