Overview

I am very happy to show you the landmarks of the city of Berat and share with you the stories and circumstances that have influenced the development of the city.

The tour is fascinating and informative, with many unique monuments, historical buildings and streets. The setting of the historical center is unique. We will visit closely the old Medieval Center of Berat with the King's Mosque and the Helveti Tekke. We will visit Mangalem and Gorica Quarter and witness how the need for protection had conditioned people in the past to build along the rocky hills and create such architectural wonders.

We will stroll through the Castle and read along the historic buildings the stories and ancient events. Then we will visit the ancient churches and explain their presence in significant numbers.

We will visit the panoramic viewpoint that offers a view of most of the city and its rural area. We will descend to the castle by a picturesque path that winds through a modern part of the city and lets us contemplate the last and modern part of the city.

“Relaxed and useful”

Màrius gave us a very interesting and relaxed tour. He knew how to answer even the most challenging questions. He has an enviable knowledge of the history and religions of the area and of his hometown. We loved the visit to the art gallery which exhibits the best paintings of local artists. “The castle was missing”

Mario is a good guide and as we got together he told us that we were not going to go up to the castle. It is true that at 16.00 in the afternoon it is very hot but one of the most important things in Berat is the castle and I think where we have more interest. We went to Gorica for a walk because we went over a bridge to end up on it. Another and the only explanation was where the hermitage. We could have skipped the. Walk and go directly to the hermitage. I was serious about extending the free tour by not going to the castle
