Walking Tour with a Real Berliner
Overview of the tour in Berlin
This free tour of Berlin has been designed with you in mind!
Hallo, I'm Martin, and although I have lived in Berlin my entire life, I have also traveled extensively around the world. My wife and I have done many walking tours on almost all 7 continents; we have taken the best bits from all of them and hopefully created a tour that you will find both informative and enjoyable.
These days, it's easy to learn about city highlights from a guidebook/internet, but this tour aims to give you insight into German life from someone whose family lived it - mine. This tour will be a mixture of recent German history (1900 onwards), focusing on the East German experience. I will touch on different periods of my country's history and mix in some of my stories/anecdotes along the way.
This activity includes:
- Humboldt University of Berlin
- Tränenpalast
- Checkpoint Charlie
- Gendarmenmarkt
