Historic Bilbao - From the 7 Streets to the Ensanche
Overview of the tour in Bilbao
FROM ITS ORIGINS TO THE MODERN AGE
For more than 500 years, Bilbao was limited to the area nowadays known as Casco Viejo-Zazpikaleak (7 streets). It is in this small meander on the right bank of the estuary that the town thrived to become one of the most important river ports of the European Atlantic arc. It is in the second half of the 19th century, in full industrial development, when the definitive leap to the left bank takes place.
We will tell you its history, its urban development, we will interpret its architecture and heritage for you, and we will get closer to the life of some of the historical figures that inhabited its streets. And of course, the anecdotes that you cannot miss.
