Birmingham's Public Art
Overview of the tour in Birmingham
A fun and engaging tour of the city considering in particular the public art around the central area of the city. We will get to understand how Birmingham has managed to have the largest collection of public art of any UK provincial city.
We see works by major artists on the world stage of public art and culture - from today's street artists to historical figures such as William Bloye as well as contemporary artists such as Luke Kelly, Dhruva Mistry, and Antony Gormley.
Our walk sees us stroll from St Martin’s Church in the Bullring through the city ending up in Centenary Square and the Library of Birmingham where there are great places to stop for refreshments.
Suitable for members of the public and also groups - from backpackers to visiting professors of fine art and everyone else in between!
Your guide, Jonathan Berg, is the author of the recently published book: 'Birmingham's Public Art'. Jonathan believes a walking tour should be fun, educational, memorable, and inclusive, so expect to be entertained.
