The Ancient Burana Tower & Kok-Moinok Canyons
Overview of the tour in Bishkek
Hello!
Join us to see the magnificent Burana Tower, a historical gem from the 11th century. Standing tall and impressive, it remains one of Kyrgyzstan’s most remarkable sites. Located 70km from Bishkek and 12km from Tokmok, the Burana Tower is the last remnant of the ancient city of Balasagun.
Balasagun was once part of the Kalahandi khaganate, which thrived between the 9th and 11th centuries before being ransacked by the Mongols in 1218. By the 14th century, the city was destroyed and left in ruins.
On this tour, you'll also visit the stunning Kok Moinok Canyons, the perfect stop between Bishkek and Issyk-Kul. These unique rock formations, created by an ancient ocean that washed away thousands of years ago, offer breathtaking designs and scenery.
