Escape the bustle of Bogotá and explore the legendary and sacred lagoon of the chieftain of Guatavita, we will pick you up from your hotel or place of accommodation at 8 am and we will begin our journey towards the town of Guatavita.
Located at 3,100 meters above sea level, in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Sesquilé, the former Chibcha chiefdom, is the Guatavita lagoon, the most famous of the sacred lagoons of this pre-Columbian culture since it was staged in the legendary rite of El Dorado, which had place each time a new chief was enthroned and consisted of the entrance of the new naked chief to the lagoon, mounted on a raft, to submerge himself in this waters.
After leaving the lagoon, you will get to know the town of Guatavita to explore the architecture and the environment, including the city's bullring and enjoy its beautiful architecture of old and cobbled streets, beautiful houses with white walls and clay roofs are the tribute to the Guatavita Vieja, a town that lies in silence under the Tominé Reservoir.
