Journey Through Brussels: Discover Its Gorgeous Attractions
The city of delicious chocolate, authentic beer, original lace, and squares with outstanding architectural value – these are just some of the associations that come to mind when mentioning Brussels. Stroll through the historic streets, take a look at the Grand Place, admire the exterior of the Royal Palace, and discover amazing museums on a free Brussels city tour by FreeTour.
Grand Place
This is the central square of the city, recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world. And this is not surprising – it is surrounded by old guild houses that look especially attractive at night, illuminated by thousands of lights.
Atomium
Surely, you have already heard of this 102-meter structure in the shape of an iron molecule. It was built for the 1958 World Exhibition and contains exhibits and a panoramic platform inside.
Manneken Pis
This is a fairly compact landmark whose form factor, however, did not prevent it from becoming an unofficial symbol of Brussels. On different days, he appears before passers-by in different costumes, of which, by the way, there are more than a hundred!
Royal Palace
This is the residence of the King of Belgium, built on the site of the burnt down former Palace of the Dukes of Brabant and open to visitors only in the summer months. Entrance to the main halls is free, and a ticket to the rest costs 2.5 euros.
Gallery of St. Hubert
Gallery of St. Hubert is one of the oldest covered galleries in Europe, where you can stroll under a glass vault while admiring the views of boutiques, as well as coffee and souvenir shops.
European Quarter
Finally, you should visit the European Union's political center to see the grand buildings of the European Commission and the Council of the EU. For every visitor, there is no admission fee.

There are several ways to get to Brussels. The first option is to fly to Brussels Airport (BRU), which is located just 12 km from the capital of Belgium (to reach its center, you have to go to the train station located directly underneath the terminal). Alternatively, after landing, you can also get to the city itself by bus (you can be dropped off below the Arrivals Hall on level 0) or take a taxi.
