Free Mysteries of Bucharest Tour
Overview of the tour in Bucharest
Discover București, Bucharest, a city that embodies joy and cheerfulness. Legend says it was founded by a shepherd named Bucur. Known as "Little Paris" during the Belle Époque, it features a unique blend of French, Austrian, and Romanian architectural styles.
Join me, born and raised during the Communist era, as I share my personal experiences under the rule of the infamous Nicolae Ceaușescu.
Together, we'll visit the Ateneul Român, explore Calea Victoriei with its fascinating buildings, and stand in Revolution Square, where Ceausescu gave his final speech, a place etched in history for its role in the uprising against a harsh dictatorship.
Next, we'll head to the Old Town to see Hanul lui Manuc and Curtea Veche, a historic inn with a charming veranda. We'll continue to the stunning Stavropoleos Church and, finally, the monumental Casa Poporului, the most visited symbol of Ceaușescu's era.
