Overview of the tour in Bucharest

From Kilometer Zero through the history of Romanians.

Firstly, we have to clarify the history of Bucharest, from antiquity to the Middle Ages till the present. We will point out some of the historical monuments, emblematic buildings, and interesting alleys of the city: The two-kilometer Zero, The Old Town, Victoria Avenue, University Square, and Revolution Square.

I will help you distinguish true history from what is invented: about Vlad Tapes - „the founder of the Romanian capital city” and how he became the famous vampire Dracula; about our monarchy and communism, even democracy, and you will understand why locals speak with contempt, with love or with indifference about politics.

We will also examine aspects of the daily life of Romanians - language and customs, religion and culture, education and economics, food and drink, and where to look for authentic souvenirs.

It is accessible by metro M2 (until the station Universitate) or by buses, tram, or trolleybuses.
