San Telmo Essential Free Tour: Tango, Market & Tunnels
Overview of the tour in Buenos Aires
We will meet at the corner of Avenida Belgrano and Defensa Street (double-check the app's map) at the Iglesia de Santo Domingo, where the English invasions occurred. From there, we will start an incredible walk through time in this wonderful and hypnotic neighborhood. We will visit different icons of Argentinean culture, such as “Mafalda,” and see the smallest house in Buenos Aires. We’ll head to two iconic tango bars and talk about the different options for seeing tango in Buenos Aires.
We will pass by a museum of tunnels and go to the famous San Telmo Market. Then, we will see the beautiful San Pedro Telmo church, the oldest church in the neighborhood. In Dorrego Square, we will be enchanted by handicrafts and street artists, listen to some tango, or maybe see dancers performing it.
We will stroll through Solar de French, the place to take the most Instagramable photos of BA, and the gallery of the Old Hotel and the Casa de los Ezeiza. I will tell you how European immigrants formed this melting pot of races.
There will be plenty of antique stores. Feel free to ask me questions and for recommendations as well.
This activity includes:
- San Telmo Market
- plaza dorrego
