Overview
Embark on a captivating journey through the heart of Old Cairo with our El Moez Street Walking Tour. Named after the fourth Fatimid Caliph, El Moez Street is a living museum of Islamic architecture and history. This tour offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the legacy of a bygone era, discovering the architectural marvels and cultural treasures of this historic district.
Al-Muizz Street goes from Bab al-Futuh city gate in the north to Bab Zuweila gate in the south, both entrances to the stone walls built by Vizir Badr al-Jamali in the 11th century. This makes it one of the longest streets in the walled city, approximately one kilometer long.
Although the name al-Moez Street usually applies only to the street within the historic walled city, in practice the road from al-Moez Street continues (under various names) further south for a few kilometers.
Then, we will move to Khan el-Khalili, where you can pick up unique souvenirs like spices and perfumes or simply soak up the local atmosphere.
And don't forget to haggle for the best bargains. Learn more about the bazaar's rich history, and join a walking tour to discover fascinating stories.
