Overview of the tour in Cologne

Our Free Christmas Market Tour goes through five major markets in the city (as well as a few of the smaller ones). We tell you the stories that make this city and Christmas what it is for us, Kölners. We’ll start at our largest and most iconic market, the Dom Christmas Market, and make our way through the historical center of our town, checking out the Christmas sites on our journey!

Along the way, we’ll stop for Glühwein along the way and explain the different varieties. We’ll explain the different traditions from Germany’s past. Our free tour will end with the only singing Reindeer we know at the Rudolfplatz Gate at the edge of our Belgian Quarter, where we can grab ourselves a last Glühwein and enjoy the best of winter in Cologne.

On arrival

We meet right next to the Kreuzblume, a fleuron replica in front of the main entrance of the Cathedral. The meeting point is close to the main station and close to one of the entrances of the tram lines 5, 16, and 18.

Things to note

The guide is the friendly, smiling person next to the fleuron.
If you cannot make it to the tour, please cancel your reservation at least two hours in advance!
