One of Cologne's most treasured pastimes is its beer, the Kölsch, a special variety that can only be brewed in Cologne. On this tour, you’ll take a journey through Cologne’s Old Town and get to know some of the breweries that perfected the Kölsch and the culture that has grown around it over the years.
Kölsch is no doubt the lifeblood of Cologne as much as the Rhein River. On our beer tour through the Altstadt, we’ll visit some of Cologne’s Iconic Brauhauses, get to know about the history of the waiters who serve the Kölsch, the glasses that it comes in, the local rules about Kölsch, and give you insights and tips that you won’t find elsewhere all while tasting the best Kölsch you can find in the city.
Along the way, you'll learn what makes the Kölsch so unique, and why it is the best beer in the region. You’ll hear the stories that helped make Kölsch what it is today and experience a typical night out in Cologne while you're at it!

The guide will be the smiley person waiting at Heumarkt, in front of the 'Restaurant Heumarkt'. You can take the tram to the station 'Heumarkt' with the lines 1, 5, 7 or 9 or you can take a 10 minute walk from the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof).
