Overview of the tour in Colombo

You will start your tour at 06:30 am from the hotel in Colombo, where your driver will pick you up to begin your wonderful journey. Be sure to bring a packed breakfast with you if you are unable to have your meal at the hotel. The first stop on your itinerary will be the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which you will reach by approximately 10:30 am. Travel Time 3 ½ to 4 hrs.

This amazing rock of Sigiriya is one of the most incredible phenomena of Sri Lanka. The almost vertical walls rise to a flat top that contains the ruins of an ancient civilization, thought to once have been the epicenter of the short-lived kingdom of Kassapa. Up there you’ll see spellbinding vistas across mist-wrapped forests in the early morning. Climb the 5th century AD rock fortress, Sigiriya, where King Kasyapa ruled. Walkthrough the entrance of ‘The Lion Rock’, so named due to being framed by the paws of a lion. Enjoy the beautiful unfading murals that brought Sigiriya its fame.
