Day 1: Fly from Dar es Salaam to Iringa and Drive to Ruaha National Park
Depart from Dar es Salaam on a flight to Ruaha National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy an exhilarating game drive, followed by a delicious lunch. Afterward, continue your game drive and savor dinner before settling in for the night at Ruaha Cottages.
Day 2: Full Game Drive at Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive across the vast expanse of Ruaha National Park. Enjoy packed lunch boxes as you immerse yourself in the abundant wildlife until sunset. Return in the evening for dinner and relax overnight at Ruaha Cottages.
Day 3: Drive to Iringa and Fly Back to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, drive for 2-3 hours to Iringa town, where you’ll catch your flight back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, we’ll assist you in returning to your hotel or catching your flight home.

On arrival
By Car
From the City Center: The airport is about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) southwest of the city center. You can take Julius K. Nyerere Road, which is the main route to the airport1.
From Kinyerezi: If you’re coming from Kinyerezi, it’s approximately a 6.2 km (3.9 miles) drive via R759 and T24 roads, taking around 7-8 minutes without traffic2.
By Public Transport
Buses and Shuttles: There are several bus services and shuttles that operate between the city center and the airport. These are usually affordable but can be slower due to frequent stops and potential traffic.
By Taxi or Ride-Sharing
Taxis: Taxis are readily available throughout Dar es Salaam. Make sure to agree on a fare before starting your journey.
Ride-Sharing Apps: Services like Uber and Bolt are also available and can be a convenient option.
Things to note
Black or dark blue clothing. It’s supposed to attract tsetse flies that have a painful bite. Though I did it once, and nothing happened. Even so, black and dark colors can be very hot, so it’s best to avoid them!
