Hike Around a Reservoir & a Local Pub

Duration: 4 hours

Overview of the tour in Dublin

We will start and finish in true Irish fashion at a local Pub, Ahernes Pub. No pints before the walk, but we can go for a pint of the black stuff after. They serve fantastic pints at local prices ( no temple bar prices here ), bar food, and snacks.

We will then take a shortcut through the area of Kiltipper, and you will see how quickly it changes from houses, pubs, and shops into a green oasis. Once we enter the gates of the reservoir, the only traffic will be bicycles, walkers, and possibly a park ranger or local resident ( there are a handful of residents inside the reservoir).

We will do a loop of the stunning reservoir, which can take up to an hour or so, depending on fitness and how many pictures you would like to take. Take as many breaks and pictures as you want. Bring a packed lunch, water, and rain gear, as this is Ireland, and the weather can always change. Wear appropriate walking gear and enjoy yourself.

I love hiking, travel, and other cultures, so I know that this place is a hidden gem that should be shared with visitors. After the first pub, I can take you to my village where there are more pubs to visit and show you where to catch the bus.

If you are unsure of where to get off just ask the bus driver or local they will happily help.
