Overview
Your guide will lead you on top of and around the city walls for breathtaking views of the port and the old town. You'll discover why the city walls served as essential structures protecting the people and wealth of the old town for centuries.
This historic walk will focus on the defensive and political challenges faced by Dubrovnik in its struggle to survive as a tiny (yet prosperous) independent republic facing serious threats from powerful and dangerous enemies. Over the centuries, the leaders and the walls of Dubrovnik both held firm.
This tour is a bit steep due to all the stairs on the city walls and therefore not suitable for everyone. It is also not suitable for pregnant women and there are no planned bathroom breaks in this 2-hour tour.

The meeting point for all our tours is at BRSALJE 8.
This is right by the PILE bus stop/taxi drop-off point. Super easy to find as Pile is the last stop for all city buses, taxis & Uber when heading towards the pedestrian old town.
The address is Brsalje 8. Dubrovnik Walks representatives & orange umbrella are all there!
Things to note
- Please note that the ***mandatory city walls entrance ticket, is NOT included in the price of the tour. It is 40 Eur per person in 2025 and can be purchased on spot upon entering the walls. It is free to enter the city walls for those that have a Dubrovnik Pass, issued by the city of Dubrovnik.*
- This tour is not suitable for everyone due to the steep parts and stairs.
- Children aged 0-11 are welcome to join all our walking tours for free (must be escorted by an adult).
- Please note that the city walls fee of 15Eur per child aged 7-18 will apply, and it is not included in the tour price.
