Guided Tour of Fafe with Regional Costume Workshop
Overview of the tour in Fafe
We start the tour at the building of the Club Fafense, one of the main attractions of the city. This city was a very small town up until the 19th century when a large part of the local community emigrated to Brazil. The ones that managed to obtain a fortune overseas came back to Fafe and built the actual look of the city - its houses, squares, gardens, and main public buildings.
We're going to get a glimpse of the houses of the former emigrants, and we'll be able to identify the main characteristics. We're going to see the main monuments of Fafe, like the Hospital, the Igreja Nova, the Theatre, the City Hall, the former train station, and the Medieval Parish Church.
This visit also includes an entrance to a Regional Costume Workshop where, every day, the owners still make the costumes by hand.
