Overview of the tour in Glasgow

Starting in George square, meet between the Lions. We begin with a discussion of the many monuments and their significance to Glasgow. These include Walter Scott, Rabbie Burns, Nelson Mandela, Queen Victoria and Robert Peel. We will enjoy the fantastic Victorian and Edwardian architecture that Glasgow is renowned for.

Moving on to Buchanan Street we will learn how the connection with the United States, Britain's first colony, Jamestown started the trade growth that allowed Glasgow to take advantage of the new trade in Tobacco. How the Tobacco Baron's became the first "Masters of the Universe". How this trade led eventually to the spark that set alight the industrial revolution right here in Glasgow. Ship building, Iron and steel works, factory working, the division of labour all started in Glasgow.
We will discover the hidden mansions, these were the world's first millionaires set up home.

The slave trade that powered the trade via the "Slave Triangle". All in Glasgow

The tour will end at Glasgow cross site of public executions, riots and summary justice.
