Palmas de Gran Canaria Historical Center: Official Guide
Overview of the tour in Gran Canaria
Immerse yourself in the history, architecture and ethnography of the capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Canary Islands with information ranging from the indigenous Canarian period, the conquest of the Canary Islands, the pirate attacks, the emigration of Canarians to America to the time when the banana and tomato were star export products. An introduction will be made at the beginning about certain Canarian traditions inherited from the indigenous Berber population of the islands.
We will also comment on information about two illustrious figures linked to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria such as Cairasco de Figueroa and Benito Pérez Galdós, as well as mentioning many others. On the other hand, we will focus on architectural monuments of the historic center and its architectural styles (traditional Canarian architecture with the stylistic basis Mudejar, neoclassicism, modernism, regionalism, etc.).
