Historical Free Walking Tour of Granada Nicaragua
Overview of the tour in Granada
We will begin by visiting the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception of Mary of Spain, appreciating its altar, and seeing one of the few Coats of Arms of Granada Spain that exist in the city.
We will continue walking towards the Plaza de los Leones, where we will see the obelisk of the 100 years of our independence from Central America and the Portal of the Lions in honor of the King of Spain Ferdinand VII
Then we headed towards the Old Convent of San Francisco de Asis and its church, considered the oldest in the city, where Fray Bartolome de las Casas served in 1536.
Then we will walk towards the old train station in Granada, and we will be able to see old train cars and buildings.
See a little more of the daily life of the locals and the different architecture of the houses, streets, and local markets.
We arrived at Xalteva Park, which was the old indigenous settlement of the city before the arrival of the Spanish. Around it are the Xalteva church, Xalteva Park, Plaza.
Lastly, we will finish our walk visiting one of the most famous houses in Granada, which was considered one of the most beautiful at the beginning of the 20th century, Casa Zampieri.
