Sacromonte Private Tour
Overview of the tour in Granada
Discover the gypsy neighborhood of Granada, a place that has a lot of Duende and stunning views.
Sacromonte is the gypsy neighborhood of Granada, the heart where flamenco was born in our city. A neighborhood that will allow you to know how the gypsies settled on this hill and the origins of the zambra.
This is the hill where all kinds of social outcasts congregated by the Christians after the conquest of the city in 1492. A settlement outside the walls where gypsies, Jews, Moors, and slaves from North Africa lived together for many years, in the caves, exchanging traditions, customs, and ways of life. Such a picturesque mixture from which will emerge one of the most important legacies that we have in Granada, flamenco, especially the zambra, our native flamenco dance.
It is a hill full of caves with great views that seems to transport us to another era.

On arrival
BY FOOT:
Plaza Nueva is one of the most important squares in Granada. You can get to this central square from several directions, among others:
Via Gran Vía or Calle Elvira, if you are coming from the Triunfo area.
Via Calle Reyes Católicos, if you are coming from the Centro area.
Via Cuesta Gomez, if you are coming from Alhambra.
Carrera del Darro, if you are coming from the Albaicín or Sacromonte neighbourhoods.
Via Calle Pavaneras, if you are coming from the Realejo neighbourhood.
Unless you are in a very outlying area of the city, the maximum distance from almost anywhere in the city to Plaza Nueva is no more than 1,200 - 1,500 metres (between 15 and 20 minutes). It depends on your pace.
The bus lines that make the journey to Plaza Nueva are mainly the red minibus lines that cover the Centro area: C31 (Albaicín - Centro), C32 (Alhambra - Albaicín) and C34 (Sacromonte - Centro). Also, the C30 (Alhambra - Centro), C5 (Neptuno - Centro), 4 (Chana - Zaidín) and 33 (Cenes de la Vega - Estación Autobuses) also run close to Plaza Nueva. These buses run quite frequently, every 15-20 minutes, and the normal ticket price is 1,40 €. At the tobacconists, you can buy a pass for several journeys from €5 or €10, with the single journey being much cheaper.

BY TAXI:
Taxis are another option for getting to Plaza Nueva. The approximate cost from different parts of the city can be between € 5.00 and € 10.00. (Tele-radio-taxi: 958 280 654). It is also possible to book 7-seater taxis or Euro taxis adapted for people with reduced mobility. It is advisable to book these taxis in advance, as availability is more limited.
BY CAR:
Access to Plaza Nueva by car is quite complex as there are several streets in the centre that are restricted to road traffic. For this reason, it is not possible to get to the Plaza itself by car, and it is necessary to park the car a few minutes away from the square and finish the tour on foot.
In the centre of Granada, there are very few free parking options, so we recommend that you leave your car in one of the car parks in the centre and move it as little as possible during your stay in the city. The Parking de San Agustín is just below the central market of Granada and is one of the closest, only a 4-5 minute walk from Plaza Nueva. Other nearby car parks are the Parking de Plaza de Los Campos (about 10 minute's walk away), or the Parking del Triunfo (15 minutes' walk away). The price for these car parks is approximately € 2,50 per hour.
