Guided Tour of Hamburg's UNESCO World Heritage Site
Overview of the tour in Hamburg
We start our walk through Hamburg's history at Hammerburg Platz, the birthplace and nursery of Hamburg, and learn how Hamburg got its name.
We then continue our tour through Hamburg's Kontorhaus district, the former center of Hamburg's merchants, and its brick Kontor.
We take a look at the prima ballerina of the Kontorhäuser under her pretty ballerina skirt.
We take a critical look at the founding documents of our port and discover one or two contradictions.
We stroll further into the Speicherstadt, immerse ourselves in the red brick canyons and their stories and find out what Westphalia has to do with Hamburg and why workers lived there in a castle.
We will find out exactly what bargemen and shipmasters did and why there are coffee barons and Persians in Hamburg.
At the end, you will have the opportunity to round off the tour in a coffee roasting house in an old warehouse.
This activity includes:
- St. Peter's Church
- Chilehaus
- WASSERSCHLOSS Speicherstadt
- Sprinkenhof
- Bishop's Tower
- Hammaburg-Platz
