Hoa Lo Prison and Little Paris Free Tour in Hanoi
Overview of the tour in Hanoi
Don’t just visit Hanoi—experience it in all its depth and wonder.
We’re Nam, Van, Lisa, and Julia—a group of young locals who can speak English very well and all have a Professional Tour Guide Certificate. Having called Hanoi home for over twenty years, we’ve got a deep love for this city and all its hidden gems.
Our goal of this tour is to explore the history of the French Quarter from the colonial period alongside the struggle of the Vietnamese people for independence (such as the Government Guest House, the Opera House, and Hoa Lo Prison). To discover the architecture of a miniature Paris in the heart of Hanoi with structures similar to those in Paris (St. Joseph's Cathedral, the Grand Opera House, and the Metropole Hotel). In addition, uncover French influence and unique Indochinese architecture (National Museum of History & University of Pharmacy).
Additionally, we will guide you in exploring the history of Vietnam's resistance against American, known as the Vietnam War. We can't wait to show you how interesting Vietnamese history is!

Things to note
Just a heads-up that this is a walking tour, so make sure you’re ready to explore on foot!
Booking for this tour is super important, so please don’t forget to reserve your spot.
Good news: the tour is wheelchair accessible and great for prams, too!
We’ll be walking about 3 km, so comfy shoes are a must, and it’s best to leave any heavy luggage behind. But hey, if you want to bring something along, we won’t mind! We also recommend bringing some water to stay refreshed during the tour.
If you’re unsure about joining, please feel free to leave that slot open for other travelers.
