Overview of the tour in Huaraz

Itinerary
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart at 8:00 AM from our office, First Class Huaraz, heading to the millennial capital of archaeology, Chavín de Huántar. Begin driving south from Huaraz, passing typical villages like Recuay (3,300m), crossing the Santa River on the left side, and continuing through areas with eucalyptus trees and sheep herders’ houses. Visit Querococha Lake at 3,980m for a photo stop.

Continue up to the Cahuish Tunnel at 4,500m, an important point for the hydrographic division where the west side of the water flows to the Pacific Ocean, and the east side flows to the Atlantic Ocean. Follow a narrow zig-zagging valley, reaching the Rio Mosna, and arrive at the archaeological site of Chavín.

Arrive at 1:00 PM and head to a restaurant for lunch until 2:00 PM. Afterward, enjoy a guided tour of the Chavín Castle for about two hours. Explore the labyrinthine rooms and visit the main building to see the Lanzón of Chavín, as well as sites like the Plazas and Cabezas Clavas.

Finish the guided tour at 4:00 PM, then depart for a non-stop drive back to Huaraz, taking the same route. Arrive at 7:00 PM and head directly to our bus station in Huaraz.
