Overview
Two decisive events took place in the 15th century for Balat-Fener: the conquest of the city by the Ottomans and the subsequent settlement of its Christian inhabitants outside the city, and a few years later the expulsion of the Jews from the Iberian Peninsula. Both events, so distant from each other, constitute the germ of what today is the most bohemian and vibrant neighborhood of Istanbul.
We will walk through its streets, with steep slopes, we will be delighted with the colors that have become its sign of identity, we will learn a little more about the history of other religions and peoples who were able to live in harmony for centuries, and who left their legacy forever among its streets.
REMARKS: Reservations of 6 or more people in one or more reservations imply the acceptance of the payment of 10 € per participant.
RECOMMENDATIONS: comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing to enter Christian temples.
