Hagia Sophia & Basilica Cistern Tour

Our tour begins at the entrance of the Hagia Sophia visiting area. If you're wearing a short dress or shorts, disposable full-cover garments or scarves are available at the entrance, as required. After security checks, I’ll start by sharing the 1,700-year-old history of this remarkable building.

What awaits you inside:
-Mosaic panels from the 9th to 13th centuries
-Additions from the Ottoman period, both inside and outside
-Private lodges of emperors, empresses, and sultans
-Viking soldier graffiti
-The gravestone of a Latin commander

After exploring the Hagia Sophia, we’ll proceed to the Basilica Cistern ticket offices, skipping the ticket line. Tickets can be purchased with Turkish lira or a credit card. Inside, I’ll share the fascinating history of the cistern before giving you free time to explore.
