Land of Blinds- From Chalcedon to Kadıköy Tour
Overview of the tour in Istanbul
Kadıköy, the heart of the Asian side of the city, formerly known as Chalcedon, was a city built before Byzantium. The King Byzas described it as the land of blinds when he established his city right across the Bosphorus. After falling back to Byzantium and Constantinople for almost 2000 years, Chalcedon became very famous again with the Levantines who came, settled and brought the latest European fashion to here in 19th century.
We meet on the Asian side of Istanbul at Kadıköy Şehir Hatları pier . We will then go to the Kadıköy market to make you discover both the local life and the heritage of the Greek, Armenian and the Levantine. Kadıköy is the most popular neighborhood of the Asian side where many locals meet, shop, and hang out with their friends.
Discovering the lively market area is an exciting experience because of the famous eateries, vegetable, fruit, and fish markets, sweet shops, bars, pubs, and meyhanes. We will end up our tour in Kadıköy so that you can taste the local cuisine after the tour, like a local.
So, let's go and enjoy!
