You will be starting your tour at 7:00 am from Kudawa Beach in the Kalpitiya village. The village is the Puttalam District, northwest of Sri Lanka. Your guide will pick you up in a comfortably furnished fishing trawler or mid-sized yacht. It is suggested that you bring a picnic breakfast to eat along the way.
The dolphin watching spot is not very far offshore. You will get there within half an hour at the most. Then your vessel will shut down its engine so as to not disturb the mammals and you will wait for a few minutes. The Dolphins will make their appearance shortly if they aren’t there already.
Your guide will point out the different dolphin species. The Kalpitiya coastline is the only place in Sri Lanka where you can see giant pods of Spinner Dolphins, numbering to over 600. You may also catch sight of the elusive Into Pacific Humpback Dolphin, also known as the Pink Dolphin.
At the end of your time there, your captain will guide the vessel out of the pod of dolphins to a safe distance and be restarting the engine to return. You will get back to the beach at 9:00 am completing your tour. SKU: LK60180100
