Despite the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the enforced Iron Curtain there are still many traces of Communism and its most famous legacies to be found in Krakow. Come visit the centrally-planned Socialist district of Nowa Huta were rugged steelworks and authentic Renaissance style houses built by the Soviets can be found. Originally this particular project was meant to be a model Communist city, which it didn't and instead became one of the centres of revolution and resistance within Poland.
