The convent of San Marcos de León was the headquarters of the Military Order of Santiago, the most crucial and the most powerful in Spain. It was guarded by kings and inhabited by knights and friars. The convent lived for centuries in great splendor, and a unique and unrepeatable building is a reflection that awaits to be revealed.
During this guided route you will discover its history, the artists who built and decorated them, the famous people who were living there, the multiple uses it had after the expulsion of the friars in the XIX century, its uniqueness and stories, as well as the treasures it has to offer.

On arrival
The start of the visit is in the Plaza de San Marcos, at the height of the statue of El Peregrino. Our guides will go with a RED umbrella/jacket with our company name, Leonesa Tours (Guided Tours).
Things to note
The entrance to the Museum of León is free, except on Sunday afternoon and Monday when it's closed. The visit requires a minimum of 6 adults for its completion. If not, we propose a change of dates, schedule, or cancellation.
