Full Day Bike Trip: Entre Huaycos
Overview of the tour in Lima
The Peruvian coast is an amazing land where the desert plains meet the valleys coming down from the Andes mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Some of these valleys are fertile and the rivers have water all year long, others are dry, arid and have water just once in a while after gaps of many years when ocassionally “huaycos” (mudslides) occur.
Not far, South of Lima on February 2010 we discovered an ancient trail that goes across the costal hills to the highlands and connects two dry river valleys, a trail “entre huaycos” (between huaycos)
This is a very good cycle-trekking that includes cross country along Caringa dry valley up to where the legs can push the pedals. Follows the trek uphill to the pass dividing the two dry valleys, from here starts a beautiful and funny downhill along Malanche dry valley through virgin lands forged by nature and marked by the prints of our bike tires only.
An unique, off the beaten path experience. Good Mountain Biking stuff in Lima.
