Overview
Meet me at Luis de Camões Square to discover the city’s secrets and funny stories. I’ll be there with a big red umbrella.
From there, we will go to the following highlights:
- Chiado neighborhood: The city’s iconic area, where we may have a "bica" with Fernando Pessoa. We'll also visit the oldest bookstore still in operation in the world.
- Igreja de São Roque: Talk about the peak of the Portuguese Empire and the Age of Exploration.
- São Pedro de Alcântara: An amazing viewpoint from where we can see Alfama.
- Santa Justa elevator: We’ll go to the top for free, no waiting in huge lines.
- Largo do Carmo: To learn about the great earthquake that shook the city in the 18th century, and we’ll also take a trip back to 1974 for a revolution.
- Rossio: To hear about the time Napoleon tried to conquer Lisbon.
- Praça do Comércio: We’ll taste a pastel de nata and end the tour here. It’s near public transportation and just a 10-minute walk from Time Out Market and Pink Street.
Along the way, you’ll also catch a glimpse of some street art.
There’s so much to see, with plenty of fun facts and interesting explanations!
