Free Tour through the Historic Center of Loja
Overview of the tour in Loja
Our tour will start at the Mirador de Isabel de Castilla, next to the Hotel El Mirador. From there, spectacular panoramic views of Loja and I will tell some stories about the city and the places we will visit.
Then, we will descend through the historic Barrio Alto, one of the most famous in the city. There, we will admire the Santa Catalina Church and soak up its traditional atmosphere.
Next, we will go to the City Hall, the former residence of General Narváez, and then we will enter the heart of Loja: the Alcazaba neighborhood. Before entering, we will make a short stop at Santa Teresa to taste the delicious roscos lojeños.
Once in the Plaza de la Constitución, we will cross the Moorish arch and dive into the oldest quarter of Loja. Here, we will admire the imposing Iglesia Mayor, and I will tell you the stories of historical characters such as Morayma, Boabdil, and Al Jatib.
Afterward, we will visit the Archaeological Museum, located in the original Moorish Alcazaba. Here you will be able to learn absolutely all the history.
Finally, we will end our tour at the Church of San Gabriel, an architectural jewel of the sixteenth century, next to the Old Bridge.

The meeting point will be at the Mirador Isabel I de Castilla.
There is parking to leave the car, and it is very close to the bus station.
The Mirador is located next to the Hotel El Mirador, you can't miss it, it is very visible.
