Free LGBTQ+ History Tour
Overview of the tour in London
Today the LGBTQ+ community’s presence can be seen across every borough and street in London. Many inequalities still exist, but the massive advances over the past 50 years have meant that most (but not all) LGBTQ+ people can now live openly and freely wherever they choose across our diverse city.
Hear stories of drag queens in the 1700s, the 1920s secret gay soirées, and the infamous history of Soho, one of the world’s best-loved queer neighbourhoods.
Join us to celebrate the iconic people and places that made this possible, and the ones who still lead the fight today, as we take pride in a community that has been through so much, from repression and persecution to violence and discrimination, yet continues to strive towards bringing equality and inclusivity to all.
