Overview
Join me on an exciting tour of the streets and squares of Mainz, exploring its rich and exciting 2,000-year history and vibrant present, from Julius Caesar to Johannes Gutenberg and even Donald Trump. As a native Mainzer and long-time tour guide (and usually social scientist), I believe this tour goes beyond the usual highlights. It is an in-depth look at how this ancient city has shaped the present and continues to influence the lives of its citizens!
In the age of AI and Google, simply listing facts about a city is no longer enough. That's why this tour combines fascinating anecdotes, international comparisons, and cultural insights, all delivered with interactive elements and humor. After all, context is everything - and in Mainz, you'll often find it in the most unexpected places. Together, we'll visit Mainz's essential highlights and discover hidden gems that even most locals don't know about.
From stunning views from the citadel to the world's deepest wine cellars and a company with the worst marketing slogan ever, this tour has surprises around every corner.
