Join this shared group day trip from Marrakech to discover the beauty and history of Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate. Your adventure begins with a scenic drive across the Atlas Mountains, where you’ll witness stunning views of valleys and traditional Berber villages.
Your first stop is Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its breathtaking kasbahs and dramatic landscapes. The fortified city has served as the backdrop for numerous films and TV series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Wander through its ancient mud-brick buildings, explore narrow alleyways, and learn about the fascinating history of this traditional ksar.
Next, continue your journey to Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Sahara." Here, you’ll visit Atlas Film Studios, one of the largest film studios in the world, where many famous movies like Lawrence of Arabia and The Mummy were filmed. Discover the sets, props, and costumes used in iconic productions.
After a day filled with history, culture, and cinematic magic, you’ll return to Marrakech in the late afternoon, concluding an unforgettable exploration of Morocco’s rich heritage and film history.

On arrival
Starting Point: Marrakech
The tour departs from a central meeting point in Marrakech. Upon booking, you will receive the exact location and time of departure, usually located in the city center. Popular meeting spots include areas near Jemaa el-Fnaa Square or major hotels. Please be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Arrival at the Meeting Point
Upon arrival, check in with our tour coordinator or guide. They will have a sign or name tag to help identify them. You’ll be directed to the comfortable, air-conditioned minibus or coach that will take you on the journey to Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate.
Travel to Ait Benhaddou & Ouarzazate
Once everyone has arrived, the group will begin the journey, which takes approximately 4 hours (one way). You’ll travel through scenic landscapes, including the Atlas Mountains, and the driver will ensure your comfort during the ride.
During the Tour
Upon arrival in Ait Benhaddou, you will have time to explore the UNESCO-listed kasbah, and in Ouarzazate, you’ll visit the film studios. There will be no official guide, but a member of our team will assist with logistics and help answer any questions about the locations.
Return to Marrakech
After the visit, you will return to the meeting point in Marrakech around late afternoon or early evening. Our driver will drop you off at the same location where you started your day.
