Overview

Within the Colombian conflict, Medellín has a difficult but important place, it has been both the epicenter of the war and the urban victims, as well as the example of the transition towards peace and the post-conflict. Starting at Parque San Antonio through downtown and finishing at Casa Museo de Memoria, you will delve into that particularity of the city, while you discover its stories and get to know its main actors.

You will learn about the changes that the violence there has had from 1982 to 2015, delving into what happened after the Medellín Cartel (this is NOT a Pablo Escobar tour) with "Donbernabilidad" and how that past is present today.

You will delve into the multiple characters and institutions that have acted in this context of war, peace, and resistance, discussing their motivations, practices, and transformations. Our specialized guides will accompany you with their knowledge and experiences in exploring the dynamics of that deep "Medallo".

Dare to go further and be surprised by the efforts of people to overcome their dark past and create a better present.

“Fantastic summary of a complex social setting”
Sebastien managed to explain the various conflicting fractions in the history of Columbia and Medellin in particular in a fascinating manner. He did so in a balanced and personal way, moving around through the city with changing backgrounds including a rooftop. The final visit of the Museo Casa de la Memorial was the moving end of the trip - wish we would have had more time there. Gruesome and hopeful at the same time. Excellent!

“Amazing tour! ”
This tour was an eye-opening experience that provided deep insight into Medellín’s transformation from a city once synonymous with violence to a beacon of resilience and hope. The storytelling was incredibly engaging, and the historical context offered a balanced perspective on how Medellín has overcome its turbulent past. Dani, our guide, was absolutely fantastic! His passion for the city, combined with his profound knowledge and ability to connect with the group, made the experience even more memorable. He answered every question thoughtfully and created a safe space for meaningful discussions about complex topics. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to understand Medellín beyond its surface beauty. It’s an inspiring journey that highlights the strength of its people and their commitment to building a better future. Thank you, Dani, for such a powerful and enriching experience!

“Interesting”
The tour gives you a lot of history of medellin so it requires quite a bit of attention but it's really interesting, the guide was really nice and open to any questions. The only thing i would change is that i thought i would get to see a lot more of the neighborhood. Still a really nice tour

“Noisy”
Probably a very good tour but I just couldn't hear anything. There was so much noise from traffic, music and people shouting all around you that you could only hear bits and pieces of what the guide wa saying. It was NOT the tour guides fault. He did as well as he could do. (I don't know if we came on an extremely nosiy day so maybe it was just an odd day off. If it's always as noisy, the organisers should try to change spots where to speak.) We were a big group so of course the guide had to move towards everybody, but every time he moved away from me, I couldn't hear what was said. I gave up after trying for 30 minutes to hear what was said and dropped off. (I felt bad about it because the guide seemed to have good content and commitment)

“Nice to listen :D ”
It was really exciting what Sebastian told us. He is a great guide who speaks a total of three languages, which I find very impressive. He did a great job, was very funny and asked us how we were doing and if we had any questions. The only drawback was that he spoke very quickly, as we are not 100% fluent in English, we didn't understand everything - but of course we could have asked, but we didn't want to hold up the group =)
