Tour of the Haciendas of Yucatán

Overview of the tour in Merida

You will visit a hacienda located in the countryside around Merida, you will tour the main house where the hacienda owners lived luxuriously and enjoyed the latest comforts of the time such as electricity or running water and were built with the latest trends in fashionable architecture such as neoclassical or Frenchified, they had chapels or churches, gardens and around the main house they built the houses of the workers.

You will also see the so-called machine room where they processed the henequen fiber for export to Europe and the USA. They also had their own network of railroad tracks to transport the production or the hacienda owners. It is a great opportunity to go back in time and see a little known aspect of the history of Yucatan and Mexico. Without a doubt it is a very complete and enjoyable cultural and historical experience.

On arrival

Clients will be picked up at the hotel lobby at the agreed time, the representative will be identified with a sign with the name of the passengers and will be returned to the hotel at the end of the activity.
It is individual responsibility to take care of their behavior, access to certain areas or the use of automatic doors is not allowed.

Things to note

This activity requires walking, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes, cool clothes and a hat or cap. Also, bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Handicapped access is not guaranteed because the buildings are old and there are not always facilities such as ramps.
